There have been allegations made regarding Illinois nursing home abuse in Alton that include the formation and enlargement of a bedsore.
As often discussed in this site, bedsores (also called pressure sores) are often caused by – or accompany – neglect and/or other mistreatment in Illinois nursing home residents. If proper treatment of bedsores is not received, bedsores can grow both in size and severity, and many adverse health consequences can accompany the situation.
The allegations involve the treatment of a 93-year-old nursing home resident, and are discussed in The Alton Telegraph article of December 23, 2014 titled “Police investigate alleged elder abuse.”
An excerpt from the article:
The woman previously had a bedsore the size of a quarter, but her lying in urine and feces caused it to enlarge to the size of a grapefruit, Frederick said.
Additional details and possible updates can be seen in a variety of media sources, including the Alton Telegraph article mentioned above.
